INCENTIVE:
Economic Development Job Training Program

OVERVIEWThe Michigan Economic Development Corporation offers job training services and job training grants to improve the skills and competitiveness of Michigan's work force.

Working in partnership with the Workforce Development Council of Livingston County, the EDC can help determine eligibility for:

  • Any business agreeing to create or retain jobs

  • Paying $7/hour or more

  • In manufacturing, research & development, warehousing and distribution, a world headquarters, or a business that exports goods and services outside Michigan

  • Those who deliver training services may also apply for the grants on behalf of specific employers - including but not limited to: public and charter schools; community colleges; local workforce development boards.

PROCEDUREEmployers must show a specific need for worker training and a
written commitment to hire or retain the workers after training for
full-time jobs of sufficient skill, and wage and benefit level to warrant training costs. The grant amounts depend on the availability of funds and other applicants accepted.
