Executive Director - 

Fred Dillingham 

Fred Dillingham became Executive Director of the EDC in 1997. Prior to that, he served in the Michigan Legislature for 16 years, developing an extensive background in working with local units of government, business and industry.

Dillingham is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University and Wayne State University and is a lifelong resident of Livingston County.

As executive director, Dillingham has administrative responsibilities for each program area, and personally handles the business retention, expansion and attraction areas as well as local government relations and the general business/community development area.

Administrative Assistant - 

Jennifer Balyeat

Jennifer joined the EDC in 2003. She manages the EDC office with a scope of responsibility that includes office operations, financial management, coordinating EDC program activities and maintaining the EDC calendar.

Administrative Program Specialist- 

Becky Thurman

 

Becky joined the EDC in 2006.  She has the responsibility to assist the Executive Director in creating high quality, valuable economic development retention, expansion and attraction programs that meet and exceed business and community needs in areas of job retention, business problem solving and economic development marketing.

Office Assistant

Sandy Weaver

Sandy joined the EDC in 2005.  She serves as general office support with office duties on a day to day basis as determined by the Administrative Assistant.

OUR MISSION:

Since 1983, the Economic Development Council of Livingston County has operated as a 501(3)c non-profit corporation. EDC believes a strong local business economy increases community wealth and promotes a high quality of life for Livingston County residents.

The EDC is not a part of any state or local governmental entity; instead, oversight comes from a private sector board of directors with representatives from:

  • county & local government
  • business & finance
  • community services
  • professional services
  • utilities
  • education and industry

OUR FUNDING:

Funding for the Economic Development Council comes from private business tax deductible contributions and service contracts with local school districts, local governments and the
 Livingston County Board of
Commissioners.

Contributions range from
 $500 to $5,000.
